Drug Class and Mechanism of Action of Quibron-T

Quibron-T is a bronchodilator medicine. It causes relaxation of smooth muscles present in the bronchi and thereby acts as bronchodilator (dilatation of bronchus or the airway passage).

Therapeutic Uses of Quibron-T

Quibron-T is used in the treatment of symptoms of asthma, chronic bronchitis, and emphysema. It can also be used in the treatment of other medical conditions as determined by your doctor.

Direction of use of Quibron-T

Use Quibron-T as per direction of your doctor. Quibron-T can be taken on full stomach or on empty stomach. If you take it everyday you should take it at the same time daily to get the best result. If you have questions about the best time to take it, you should ask your doctor.

If You Miss a Dose of Quibron-T

If you miss a dose of Quibron-T, you should take it as soon as you can remember it. If you miss it for long time and it is almost time for the next dose, you should skip the missed dose of Quibron-T and go back to your normal dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses of Quibron-T at a time.

How to Store Quibron-T

Quibron-T should be stored at room temperature. Store it away from heat, moisture and light in a tightly closed container. Keep Quibron-T out of reach of children.

You should consult your doctor if your breathing symptoms do not improve or if they become worse. If you are using Quibron-T, you should carry identification card at all times that says you are taking this medicine. Quibron-T should be used by the person for whom it is prescribed and not shared with others. Do not use Quibron-T for other health conditions. If you are using this medicine for an extended period of time, obtain refills before your supply runs out.

Precautions to be Taken While Taking Quibron-T

  • If you will have to get any medical or dental treatments, emergency care, or surgery, inform your doctor or dentist that you are using this medicine.
  • You should not take large amounts of foods containing caffeine and beverages, such as coffee, tea, cocoa, cola drinks, and chocolate.
  • You should keep all doctor and laboratory appointments while you are using this medicine.
  • If you want to switch to a new brand of this medicine, consult your doctor. Before you begin taking any new medicine, either prescription or over-the-counter (OTC), consult your doctor or pharmacist.
  • For women: If you are pregnant you should not take Quibron-T. If you plan on becoming pregnant, you should discuss with your doctor about the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy. This medicine is excreted in breast milk. If you are or will be breast-feeding while you are using this medicine, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.

Possible Adverse Effects of Quibron-T

  • Common and less serious side effects of Quibron-T are nausea, nervousness, restlessness etc. These side effects usually go away during treatment, but if they become bothersome or persistent you should consult your doctor.
  • Consult your doctor immediately if you experience any of the serious side effects of this medicine. Serious side effects of Quibron-T are heartburn, stomach pain, diarrhea, black or tarry stools, difficulty sleeping (insomnia), confusion, change in behavior, headache, fast or irregular heartbeat, dizziness, muscle twitching, seizures, fast breathing etc.
  • If you experience any side effect that is not listed above, you should consult your doctor or other health care provider.
