Drug Class and Mechanism of Action of Zimulti
Zimulti acts on the CB- 1 receptors. The CB- 1 receptors are present throughout the body. Zimulti acts by blocking the CB- 1 receptors, which in turn helps in reducing intake of food in an individual by decreasing his appetite. The person starts losing weight as the food intake of an individual is decreased to quite an extent. Zimulti acts on the peripheral organs which play a very important part in lipid and glucose metabolism, including the liver, adipose tissue muscles and the GIT (gastrointestinal tract).
Therapeutic Uses of Zimulti
Zimulti is used therapeutically for reducing weight in obese and overweight persons who are also suffering from type II diabetes and abnormal levels of fat (cholesterol and triglycerides) in the blood. It is used as complementary to diet and exercise. It also helps in preventing the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
Direction of use of Zimulti
The usual dose of Zimulti is one 20 mg tablet to be taken once daily in the morning before breakfast. Swallow the tablet whole without breaking, crushing or chewing it.
If You Miss a Dose of Zimulti
If you miss a dose of Zimulti, you should take it as soon as possible. But, if it is almost time for the next dose, you should skip the missed dose of Zimulti and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not take an extra dose to make up for a missed dose.
How to Store Zimulti
Zimulti should be stored at room temperature in a cool and dry place away fro heat. Keep away from the reach of children and do not store it in bathroom.

Zimulti is a brand name (trade name) for Rimonabant, which is intended for its launch in the US. It has not yet been made saleable in the US market (FDA has yet to approve). Acomplia is a brand name for Rimonabant in the UK and rest of Europe, which was launched in June 2006.

Precautions to be Taken While Taking Zimulti
Before you start taking Zimulti you should consult your doctor and adhere to the prescribed dosage to attain the expected results. Zimulti should not be taken during pregnancy as it may cause birth defects in an unborn fetus. Zimulti should not also be used by breast feeding women (as it can pass into breast milk, although not clinically proved, but there is possibility that this diet pill may be passed into breast milk). Zimulti is metabolized by the liver, so it is recommended that patients with moderate hepatic impairment should consult their healthcare provider before using the drug.
Possible Adverse Effects of Zimulti
While taking Zimulti you may experience some side effects as your body tries to adjust to the drug like nausea, headache, insomnia, anxiety, disorientation, hallucinations, hypertension (high blood pressure), heart and kidney damage, palpitations (very high pulse rate), heart attack, strokes, psychosis, fatigue and hyperphagia (excessive eating beyond normal feeling of hunger), gastrointestinal discomfort and dizziness.
