Bactroban is an antibacterial medicine. The mechanism of action of Bactroban is by stopping the production of essential proteins required by the bacteria for survival.
Therapeutic Uses of Bactroban
Bactroban is used in the treatment of skin infections. It can be also used in other conditiones as directed by your doctor.
Direction of use of Bactroban
Bactroban should be used according to the direction of your doctor. Check the label for direction of use. The infected area should be washed and dried before applying Bactroban in it. Apply small quantity as required over the infected area and rub until it is spread evenly over the affected area. After applying Bactroban the area can becovered with bandage or gauze.
Use Bactroban for the full course and keep using it even there is symptomaticimprovement of infection.
Dose of Bactroban, if Missed
If an application of Bactroban is missed apply it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for next application than skip the missed application and follow the regular application schedule.
How to Store Bactroban
Bactroban should be stored at room temperature i.e. 59-86 degree Fahrenheit or 15-30 degree Centigrade.

Precautions to be Taken While Taking Bactroban

- If you have allergy to any other medicine, food or other substances.
- If you are getting treatment for burns or an open wound.
- If you are taking any medicine either prescription or non prescription medicine, dietary supplements or any herbal preparation.
Possible Adverse Effects
- Like any other medicine Bactroban can cause some side effects and some people get side effects, some do not get or they get negligible side effects. The common side effects of Bactroban are burning at the site of application, stinging nausea or headache. Consult your doctor if any of the common side effects are bothering you.
- Get medical attention immediately if any of the uncommon but potentially serious side effects like severe itching or irritation at the site of application and allergic reaction to Bactroban or any of its ingredients, like chest discomfort, difficulty in breathing, rash, swelling of face, lips, mouth, tongue etc.
