Contraindications to zoom whitening

People are ready to visit not only plastic surgery specialists but dentists also to get attractive appearance. The procedure of teeth whitening becomes more popular though it still has several side effects. For instance such as teeth weakening caused by the fluorine washing out. The beauty is not for free. On my behalf I’d like to add that any whitening will be useless until the person will not gave up smoking. Smoking and yellow teeth is equal to pulmonary tuberculosis and cough.

Here is the explanation – abrasive agents act like emery paper that scratches only the surface.

The teeth whitening have become quite common cosmetic procedure in many developed countries. Still not all of those people are aware that this procedure requires thorough prior preparation.

Today there are several ways to made the teeth white again. Chemical whitening implies the use of special gum shield that were made according to the moulds of person’s jaws and filled with whitening drug. These gum shields should be placed on the teeth for several hours a day. It is possible to use it throughout the sleep. The whole procedure period equals to 2-3 weeks.

Light and laser whitening is made in the dentist offices and may last from several minutes up to 1.5 hours. Both of these methods imply the whitening gel (commonly containing hydrogen peroxide solution) deposition on the teeth. In the first case it is activated by the special lamp light, and in the second one – by the laser. As every method has it pros and cons it is advised to use the one that is more convenient for you. This should be done throughout the consultancy with your dentist and only after the thorough examination of your teeth condition. Furthermore you should settle all problems with your teeth before whitening them. It means you should cure all teeth, remove teeth deposit and scales, treat interdental gaps and polish teeth. Dentists also advise to put fluorine containing agent on the teeth that will strengthen its enamel.

Teeth are quite vulnerable through the first days after the whitening thus you shouldn’t take too hot or cold drinks and foods, too sour and hard foods. Furthermore freshly whitened teeth are quite sensitive to coloration. Thus you have to avoid smoking, tea, coffee, cola, red wine and juices drinking as well as berries, colored fruits, sauces and other foods containing artificial staining agent eating for several days to keep your teeth white.

According to the opinion of the dentists:

  • The teeth whitening procedure is quite harmless for the health, however several factors should be considered before carrying it out. First of all, there is small number of the patients that have contraindication to it. Thus before taking a decision to white your teeth you must visit your dentist to be sure that you have no contraindications against this procedure. Secondly, teeth whitening washes out fluorine thus making the teeth weak. The patient that has whitened his teeth should have certain recovery procedures, and particularly get the fluorine containing agents applications. Thirdly, you should always remember that the tooth fillings cannot be whitened and most properly you will have to replace them after the teeth whitening procedure.

Despite the fact that there are certain means for home teeth whitening experts do not advise to use them on your own. The process should be monitored by the dentist otherwise teeth whitening may harm the health of the patient. For instance the reagent occasionally deposited on the gum may cause chemical burn.

It isn’t also advised to use whitening tooth pastes too often. Slight whitening provided by them is caused by the abrasive agents that this paste contains. Furthermore the possibility of getting your teeth enamel damaged by the use of such tooth pastes is quite high.
