In some cases harm to skin of eyebrow result in blackening of eyelid. Its melodramatic purple black to dark blue color and puffiness doesn't inevitably signal a grievous wound. As there are no adipose tissues or powerful muscles around the eyes it leaves a prospective cavity for damaged blood vessels for assemblage of blood even in minor bruises. Different types of pigments are released during healing which may cause swelling, accumulated blood is gradually reabsorbed. In most of the cases first aid is sufficient and no medical treatment is required. But in case of sever pain or bleeding in eyes (hyphema) medical assistance must be taken.
