Human bites
There are many types of bacteria and virus found in human mouth. So in many cases human bites are dangerous than that of the animals. During fights or wrestling, if someone cuts their knuckles on other person teeth, this is also considered as human bite because there happens to be an injury due to teeth bite. So, it is always suggested not to indulge in any fights where there may be chance of getting human bites.
Here are steps to be followed immediately after getting a human bite. Since there is no precautionary measure to avoid human bites, cure is the only solution for this. To avoid dangerous infections later, the first aid steps have to be followed as is.
By following these, the extent of severity can be drastically minimized.
1. Sometimes there may be bleeding due do the cut in the skin. It’s always recommended to apply ample pressure on the surface of the body where it bleeds. You doing so you can stop the bleeding and avoid lose of blood. This should be done as the first step in the process of first aid.
2. If there isn’t any bleeding or if it is stopped by applying pressure, now clean the skin with water and soap. Be sure that the water with which you are cleaning stays fresh and clean.
3. Human bites causes infection. These infections may cause serious problems if left ignored. Antibiotic creams prevent from infection. So gently apply some anti biotic cream to avoid infection.
4. Clean bandage has to be applied now in the last process. As in the first step, apply direct pressure if the bleeding exists still. Directly apply pressure on the wound with cotton or clean cloth. After applying some anti biotic cream, place cotton on that part and apply bandage. Be sure that the bandage sticks to the place injured tightly. This avoids bleeding and also keeps the injured spot clean.
5. As the first aid is completed, immediately rush for the nearest emergency care to see that the injury doesn’t turn into a serious infection causing some problem. Do not neglect this because, as said human bites are dangerous than animal bites sometimes.
Most probably you must have got tenants shot when you were a kid i.e. at the age before five. But if you didn’t get this vaccine at that time, you should get a booster. Your doctor recommends a booster within 48hrs of time from the point of injury.
