06/02/2009

According to the government forecasts over 150 thousands of patients that already possess oncological diagnosis will be able to use this opportunity.

Special certificates providing free drugs that are available in the Nation Health Service system will be developed for these patients. These certificates will be valid for 5 years and patients will be able to update it as many times as it is needed. Gordon Brown, the Great Britain prime-minister has emphasized last September that such opportunity will also be provided for those patients experiencing chronic diseases such as heart trouble, bronchial asthma or arthritis. The general sum provided to compensate the free provisioning of the antineoplastic drugs as well as others one used in the frames of this program is estimated at the 300 millions of pound sterling.

The experts are quite inspired with the government’s decision. According to their words cancer not only threatens the life it is also the cause of great expenditures and the opportunity of the free medications provisioning will change the life of thousands of people.
